I’m quiet sure those TVD fanatics out there ( I am proudly one of ‘em, HAHA ) will never forget this oh-so-true line from one of its episodes. Stefan had been keeping a lot of secrets from Elena but he just asked her to trust him. Apparently, Elena can’t just “magically” hand it over that easily. And anyone could understand that.

See, TRUST is when you rely in something or someone. People earn trust by keeping your word, by NOT lying. You earn trust if you don’t create situations that leave you open to an accusation. You earn trust by letting the person know how special they are to you.

It feels really good to trust but when it’s broken, we feel as if a part of us dies, is hollowed out. Thing is, even if you’ve forgiven them, once trust is broken.. you’ll ALWAYS wonder if they’ll do it again. And when you’ll know for sure that some things will never change, you’ll never FULLY trust them again.

When CHOCOLATES melt, you can never bring it back to it’s original form. Even if you’ll freeze it for like forever, it’s still deformed. Same thing happens with TRUST. When it gets broken, you can mend it.. but it won’t be perfect again. 

You have to know WHO to trust. You have to learn HOW to trust and you have to know HOW to CONFIRM the existence of mutual, functional trust. :))
